Overview

Icalia Tableware is a brand-new ecommerce venture founded by two Italians who, after working closely with Canada’s hospitality industry, saw a clear gap in tableware quality and design. Their goal was to bring Italian craftsmanship, tradition, and attention to detail directly to Canadian homes and restaurants through a dedicated Shopify store. The objective of this project was to launch a premium Shopify store that reflects the brand's heritage while remaining easy to browse, understand, and buy from. The focus was on design clarity, performance, and a structure that supports both consumer and hospitality customers from day one.

Problem & Challenge

Launching a premium tableware brand online comes with a specific set of challenges. Icalia needed a website that could communicate Italian craftsmanship and tradition without overwhelming buyers or making products feel mass-produced.

The approach was grounded in restraint and experience. We customized a Shopify theme to support Icalia’s brand direction, focusing on layout, spacing, typography, and hierarchy rather than heavy customization for its own sake.
