Icalia Tableware is a brand-new ecommerce venture founded by two Italians who, after working closely with Canada’s hospitality industry, saw a clear gap in tableware quality and design. Their goal was to bring Italian craftsmanship, tradition, and attention to detail directly to Canadian homes and restaurants through a dedicated Shopify store. The objective of this project was to launch an ecommerce experience that feels premium and intentional—one that reflects the brand’s heritage while remaining easy to browse, understand, and buy from. The focus was on design clarity, performance, and a structure that supports both consumer and hospitality customers from day one.

Problem & Challenge

Launching a premium tableware brand online comes with a specific set of challenges. Icalia needed a website that could communicate Italian craftsmanship and tradition without overwhelming buyers or making products feel mass-produced.

The approach was grounded in restraint and experience. We customized a Shopify theme to support Icalia’s brand direction, focusing on layout, spacing, typography, and hierarchy rather than heavy customization for its own sake.
